Our nation’s 243rd birthday is nearly upon us, and no one knows how to celebrate a good, old-fashioned Independence Day better than Treasure Lake RV Resort, a private membership RV park on Treasure Lake Drive behind the IMAX theater in Branson.
Most of the planned activities are private, arranged to entertain resort members, their families and registered guests, but Treasure Lake also welcomes locals and Branson visitors to share in the awesome wonder of their astounding, sparkling and explosive display of patriotism. According to staff member and tour guide Rex Martin, “This is our biggest event of the year. We will be full to capacity. The city requires us to have a city Fire Marshall and two fire trucks on hand for the display.” Martin estimates attendance at the fireworks display, held at the park’s disk golf course, will reach approximately 3,000 to 4,000 people and invites you to bring your loved ones out to enjoy the beautiful fireworks display!
The resort’s lower gate will open to the public starting at 7 PM on the evening of Saturday, July 6. Limited parking is available in a designated area and only foot traffic is permitted beyond that point. Fireworks are scheduled begin around 9 PM and end around 9:30 PM. There is no seating except on the ground so it is suggested that you bring lawn chairs, blankets, etc, as appropriate for your families comfort.
The park is open all year and offers an incredible value to members. As a deeded park, folks buy in to own a fractional percent of the resort itself. This deed is transferable, sellable and willable. In addition to the buy-in price, there is a $180 yearly maintenance charge, a price that has remarkably remained fixed since the 340-acre park’s inception in 1982. It includes access to incredible recreational features and perks far too numerous to list here.
Treasure Lake currently offers a special promotion. Non-members who sign up for a tour of the resort can receive four days and three nights of a free RV site. This does not apply to rental cabins and you must make reservations for your private tour before coming to the park. This special is not available during holidays.
It’s a low key atmosphere. Staff member Glenda Martin stated, “We don’t believe in any high pressure sales.” They have a varied blend of members, featuring families and retirees alike.
