BRANSON, Mo – Branson residents and guests will notice big improvements to the roads and trails at the Branson Lakeside RV Park as the Branson Public Works Department and the Parks & Recreation Department worked together to overlay the roads and make improvements to the area.

RV Park is a popular destination

Branson Lakeside RV Park is a popular destination for campers, travelers, walkers, and bikers. It is located on Lake Taneycomo, next to the Branson Landing, and is open year-round with 135 sites with direct access to the lake and scenic walkways.

Includes two-inch asphalt overlay of RV Park Roads

Public Works is just finishing up this project, which included a two-inch overlay of asphalt, as part of its annual Mill and Overlay projects. Besides improving the roads, Public Works constructed a short retaining wall along the lake frontage to mitigate erosion to the asphalt when the lake water rises. Public Works also removed old collapsed corrugated metal storm sewer pipes (CMP’s) and installed badly needed reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) storm sewers in the campground. The project cost approximately $115,000 and came out of the City’s capital operations budget.

The project will improve the guest experience

“We are super excited to be getting this facelift of our roads. This will improve our guest experience and make travel so much easier for RV’s, as well as bicycles, walkers, and runners in the park,” said Parks & Recreation Director, Cindy Shook.

This project is a direct result from the City’s “Community Plan 2030,” a long-term vision for the City created by residents and community members.
