It was recently web post announced that the Branson Area Chamber of Commerce and CVB has formed a task force to start planning for the economic reopening of Branson after the danger of the COVID-19 Flu is passed. It will contain representatives from several businesses, including the live entertainment, attractions, retail, lodging, and restaurant sectors, as well as the school district and city hall and will meet “online.” The announcements did not contain the names of the task force members, any anticipated timeline for their recommendations, or potential target date when such an economic reopening might start.

“You know, If June 1 is the day, what’s gonna happen,” said Akers. “How are we going to plan for that? How are we going to be able to help businesses get open? How are we going to be able to help them find employees they have to have to be able to be open?”

Jeff Seifried, President, and CEO of the chamber said that the plan will include social distancing and other government-mandated COCID-19 requirements.
